It's perfectly logical that these events would seem odd to a "modern" mind. The spirit realm is so vastly different to our experiences in the flesh that it would be even more odd if they all "made sense." 🙂
But what's most odd to me is that people in this time and place expect to understand some of the more difficult concepts and ideas in the Bible without first imagining themselves as a first century person before digging in and reading.
I think it was Mike Heiser who said that the Bible wasn't written TO us, but it WAS written FOR us. Truth is Eternal, no matter the Age. The sad thing is, that our so-called "modern" culture is anything but...but that's another topic altogether. 😉

Excellent observations. I think many Christians miss the obvious--that the Bible was written TO us. Many seem to think it was. :-)
